Four in a Row

Drop discs, stack strategy, and connect four before your opponent does.

Drop discs into columns so they stack from the bottom. The first player to connect four of their discs in a row — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — wins.

About Four in a Row

Play Four in a Row (Connect Four) free online on Strategy Games. Drop colored discs down columns, build ladders and traps, and stop your opponent's threats in time. Great for kids, families, and anyone who wants a fast two-player strategy fix — vs a friend on one device or vs the CPU.

How to play Four in a Row

  1. On your turn, choose a column that is not full. Your disc drops to the lowest empty slot.
  2. Players alternate turns until someone connects four discs in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line.
  3. Block your opponent whenever they threaten four in a row on their next drop.
  4. If every column fills with no four-in-a-row, the match is a draw.

Tips & strategy

  • Control the center columns — they create the most winning lines.
  • Set up double threats that cannot both be blocked in one move.
  • Watch vertical stacks; a three-high threat is easy to miss.
  • Think about where your disc leaves the next landing square for them.
